THE POSITION

Orthopedic Center of Illinois (OCI) seeks an experienced medical billing professional to lead our reimbursement team. This position will give the right candidate the opportunity to apply their skills, knowledge and experience to lead a team in day to day operations while looking for and implementing systems and processes that improve billing cycle results.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Utilizes charge scrubbing software in charging process, claims processing, payment posting, denials management, insurance carrier refund processing
• Provide leadership and guidance for billing team with focus on continuous improvement and team development
• Maintain knowledge of current CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding standards
• Stays current on Payor news and assists in creation of scrubber rules to ensure maximum reimbursement through effective coding policies
• Maintain current knowledge of practice management and other computer software as it relates to reimbursement

KEY SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

• Associate's Degree in business with five or more years of medical billing experience
• Prefer Bachelor's in Business or Healthcare Administration and medical billing experience
• Demonstrated, hands-on reimbursement experience with: commercial insurance, contracted insurance, Medicaid and Medicare
• Ability to lead and motivate a team
